Abilities

All abilities are mandatory, unless stated otherwise by the card, using terms like "you may ..."

Ongoing
  • (Q): When a unit is in a supporting role and give +/- to attack/defense, does it still count?
  • (A): Yes. Ongoing abilities buff the overall attack/defense of a column, even when the stats the unit uses are skirmish/siege.

Retreat
  • (Q): Can a unit retreat by itself?
  • (A): No. Units can only leave the battlefield through abilities. Retreat (flag icon) covers both "return to hand" and "discard" (which is back to the bottom of the deck).
  • (Q): Do you still get the retreat ability, even if the unit is supported by another unit, when it retreats?
  • (A): Yes, as the ability is first triggered once the unit leaves the battlefield, and the ability can be read.

At the end of your turn

2. Resolve your attack
  • (Q): When you resolve your attack, do the opponent get to attack back?
  • (A): No. Players only attack on their turn, which means your attack values vs their defense value.
Attacking columns
  • (Q): Do a column get to attack, if it was empty at any point during the turn?
  • (A): No. If a column is at any point completely empty again before new units are played onto it, it's considered as a newly established column.
